VoIP Phones: Replace or Adapt
December 30, 2019What is VoIP?
February 1, 2020Voice over IP telephone calls carry our voices over the public internet and need to be
managed properly to make sure both callers have a quality telephone conversation. VoIP
telephones are commonly connected to the customers data network and rely on the equipment at the customer’s location. We highly recommend separating the voice and data network. Often clients already have 2 data jacks per location, but sometimes we need to run additional cables to accommodate a separate jack for the telephones. We also install a data switch, their are special network switches which provide power to the telephones called Power over Ethernet (PoE). Then we make sure we have our cloud based VoIP router installed, which typically requires a separate static IP address, this is the device we use to manage your internet connection. Here is a great video which explains how a cloud based VoIP router helps make sure you receive quality phone calls by managing your internet connection. Separating the voice and data network allows us to control and manage your Voice over IP telephone system, we have 24/7/365 monitoring on the network. We can use the information from the cloud based VoIP router to determine any issues on the network, and use this information when working with the internet carrier to prove the problems that are occuring on the internet connection. These routers can take 1 or 2 internet connections, and deliver the uptime and reliability and make sure your business is always online.
